Damascus steel blade comprised of antique sawmill circular saw steel and modern sawmill bandsaw steel, with deep hollow ground primary bevels, and flat secondary bevels creating an "S" grind that reduces weight and cutting friction, while aiding in food release. Hardened and tempered to about 62 Rockwell, for excellent edge retention without being: overly difficult to sharpen, or likely to chip or break with mild abuse. The handle is made from scrap black walnut and ironwood from a furniture maker. The tang extends 2/3 of the way into the handle.
