7 and 3/4 inch blade forged from a scrapped high carbon steel 52100 industrial roller bearing, heat treated to 62 Rockwell hardness for excellent edge retention.  Primary bevels are flat ground thin with a ferric chloride forced patina.  The secondary bevels along the cutting edge is sharpened at 20 degrees to a very sharp mirror polish.  


The handle is 5 inches long and carved from red oak that has been stabilized with hardened resin to increase the hardness, repel moisture, and eliminate moisture related warping and cracking long term,
