7” blade hand forged from scrap antique buzzsaw and modern bandsaw, (both from saw mills) sandwiching a core of 52100 high carbon steel from scrap industrial roller bearing. And as always, this blade was heated with a waste vegetable-oil powered forge furnace during the forge-welding and general shaping processes.

Heat treated with a computer controlled electric furnace to 62 Rockwell hardness. (Normalized 3x, quenched, and tempered 2x)

 

The handle is carved from stabilized (saturated with hardened resin) maple burl.
