7” blade hand forged from a scrap 2” ball bearing from a crane turret, containing 52100 high carbon steel.
Carefully heat treated to 62 Rockwell hardness for a balance of toughness and hardness to hold a good edge without being overly brittle.
Ground with an “S” grind cross-section, featuring a multi faceted primary bevel combing a hollow grind and flat grind, terminating at a very fine secondary bevel. This blade geometry reduces cutting friction, while increasing the strength-to-weight ratio. It also provides great food release from the blade.
The handle is hand carved from White Oak into an ergonomically versatile octagon cross-section that offers great indexing. The wood is aged with a mild acid, lightly scorched, and oiled repeatedly to help preserve it.
*Not dishwasher safe
*Special care is required for high carbon steel and natural wood. Always hand wash and dry immediately after every use.
