8 1/2” blade hand forged with high carbon 52100 scrap roller bearing steel, clad with 150+ layer scrap sawmill blade damascus. All processed and forged in-house to create a one of a kind steel. -Forged with heat provided from a waste vegetable oil fired forge-furnace. -Heat treated with a computer controlled electric furnace to 62 Rockwell hardness for a nice balance of edge retention and toughness. Normalized 3x, quenched, tempered 2x The handle is carved from curly maple that has been fully saturated with hardened resin to make for a harder, stronger, and more water resistant material. Hand rubbed, polished finish.
