The 3 1/4” hand forged blade is made from from 1/8” thick high carbon O1 tool steel that is alloyed with tungsten, vanadium, and silicon. Heat treated to 58 Rockwell hardness. Flat ground primary bevel has a dark grey forced patina while the small secondary bevel is polished to an extremely sharp mirror finish.
The handle is 4” long, and forged from 16 gauge steel and includes a steel rivet and two nickel coated washers to create the friction hinge.
Inside the handle lies a small disc of nylon that is captured with a copper rivet. This acts as a bumper for the sharp edge to rest to prevent from slamming into the handle.
No spring, no lock, nothing fancy. A handy minimalist knife exposing raw quality material, and a high performance blade.
Inspired by the traditional Japanese “Higonokami” utility knife.
You will receive one of the 3 knives pictured.
